The check-in process caused a brief moment of stress as the agent asked for Deepti's visa to Malaysia, which we did not have since we were only passing through the airport in Kuala Lumpur. We explained this to the agent and fortunately did not face any further obstacles to boarding the flight. We were happy to find an Indian restaurant that was open for breakfast in the airport. I had my favorite Idli with Sambhar and chutney, Dee had paratha. The final 20-30 minutes of the flight took us over the massive Tonle Sap (Sap = Lake in Khmer language). Sursdey! (which is Hello in Khmer language). Our guide, Maang, who was waiting with his "Mr Ron" placard as we exited the baggage claim area, informed us that Tonle is the largest lake in SE Asia. The humidity was quite intense for those of us accustomed to the Bay Area mild climate. After a 15 minute ride we were greeted like royalty at the hotel. The first gesture was one that we came to really like.....a cold towel with a mint aroma to cool off.
